General note Abstract<br/><br/>Skills development is fundamental for youth as they strive to secure and retain meaningful employment. Given the notable skills gap and the repeated concerned over unemployment issues among youths in Brunei, the study aims to examine the impact of youth leadership program on perceived employability skills. The research questions address the extent to which learning outcomes in the form of knowledge, skills and attitude can influence behavior and perceived employability skills, the mediating role of behavior and the moderating role of self-esteem. To meet these questions, a survey questionnaire was employed to generate data from 229 samples, consisting participants of youth leadership programs. Based on structural equation modeling, learning outcomes have significant positive relationships with behavioral outcomes and perceived employability skills. The result further confirmed the mediating role of behavior on learning outcomes and perceived employability skills as well as the significance of self-esteem in influencing perceived employability skills. The study signifies youth leadership program as a salient platform that can foster skills development among youth, which are substantial for their employability. The study presents novel contributions to youth leadership development context, not only in Brunei, but also to the few empirical work being performed in Asian region. It acts as starting point for moving towards mitigating the gap and most importantly, acts a drive to reduce the the concerning unemployment issues. Understanding the outcomes of youth's participation in leadership program is crucial for leadership training providers, educational institutions and other stakeholders towards the process of planning for on-going improvement of such programs in the future.
