500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note Abstract

A Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) consists of vehicles equipped with on-board units (OBUs) that are able to establish multi-hop connection routes among each other while being decentralized and self-organising. Each vehicle can act as a node to facilitate data exchange with other vehicles and with roadside infrastructure when roadside units (RSUs) are available. However, even with the annual increase of vehicle density on roads, most vehicles remain parked 95% [1] of the time. This leads to Vehicular Fog Computing (VFC) [2] which can leverage the OBUs in parked vehicles as infrastructure for both communication and computation. To date, several routing protocols have been proposed in order to forward traffic among vehicles and RSUs. This research measures the performance of VANET routing protocols in a VFC scenario. The metrics include PDR, average throughput, and average end-to-end delay. Through the results, AOMDV is found to be a good routing protocol which performs consistently throughout the varying parameters.
