Summary, etc. Franklin D. Israel is one of the most important young architects working today. His practices began in New York with some highly publicized apartment renovations in Manhattan and beach houses in the Hamptons. Israel's more recent projects, in California, include the Joel Grey house, sets for Night Games and Star Trek, the Robert Altman house, Eames Studio renovation, Propaganda Films office, Hardrock Hotel, pool houses for Audrey Hepburn and Michele Lamy, Weisman Art Pavilion, offices for Virgin Records, and projects for the University of California at Los Angeles.<br/>Franklin D. Israel won the Prix de Rome in 1973 and his work was the subject of the 1988 exhibition "Architecture Tomorrow" at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.<br/>Frank Gehry, an internationally acclaimed architect and winner of the 1989 Pritzker Architecture Prize, is the subject of Rizzoli's Monograph Frank Gehry: Buildings and Projects.<br/>Thomas Hines is a professor of modern history at the GraduateĀ® School of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of California at Los Angeles.
