A project report submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Foundation Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

This project presents the design and fabrication of flat belt tension apparatus. The material available in ITB store is used for the fabricated. The friction belt apparatus has the main components such as frame; pulley, bearing, hangers, masses; motor, and belts. The apparatus is tested under constant load at different angles of wrap to determine the coefficient of kinetic friction. The results for the coefficient of kinetic friction are then compared with the theoretical values. The graphical presentation comparison is made to study between angle of wrap and the tension ratio.
