A project report submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the Foundation Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

ABSTRACT
The main objective of this project was to design and fabricate a portable sheet metal bending machine that is able to bend a maximum of 3mm thick sheet metal. This machine is to be used by the students in the ITB for their workshop practice and general works.
This project consisted of two phases. In the first phase, four ideas were designed and proposed based on the project requirements and the final design option was selected using the Design Evaluation Matrix. Further research and consultations were done to finalize the chosen conceptual design. The final dimensions of the portable motorized sheet metal bending machine was drawn using Autodesk Inventor after all the necessary calculations were made. In the second phase, fabrication works were initiated and the project was successfully made. It was able to bend up to 3mm thickness of galvanized steel and aluminium and was not able bend mild steel plates.
