Abstract
Communal farmers are always confronted with the problem of finding the combination of enterprises that will provide them with the highest amount of income through the best use of the farm's limited resources. Linear programming is a mathematical technique that can be used to find the optimal combination of enterprises. A linear programming model was formed to maximize profit with limited available resources of the Labi farmers. Ten farmers were interviewed to get the idea of the existing production cost and benefit from their produces. From the data, a linear objective function was written to maximize the profit per ha with ten constraints. It is expected that the model will produce better results than the existing practices of crop production and it will increase the cropping intensity from the present level of 100% to 200%. This model can be used for other rice cultivation areas of Brunei like Wasan rice farm with minor modification.
