Capstone Project Report
ABSTRACT
Plastic waste within the rivers and ocean are a global issue. Since the late 20th century, we have use plastic as a reasonable, versatile, and sturdy material. However, plastic take centuries to degrade and it is frequently either dumped carelessly ashore or in rivers, before ending up within the ocean, where it threatens the marine life. For this reason, this project of Simpur Floating Waste Collector (SFWC) is to develop a system that can help remove floating pollutants in the Brunei Rivers. With feedbacks and observation, the initial design of SF WC can be further developed to a more coherent product. The design is made in Google SketchUP and Solidwork design platform and using Rapid Prototyping to fabricate prototype of a physical part or assembly using threedimensional computer-aided design (CAD) system. At the end of this research, a fully functional trash collector prototype is expected to produced. With the developed product, it will further benefit Brunei in resolving the floating waste pollution issues in our rivers.
