ABSTRACT
Effective supply chain management (SCM) has become one of the potentially securing competitive advantage and improving organization performance. This research conceptualizes and tests the relationships between SCM practices, organizational performance, and competitive advantage. The purpose of this research is to find out to which extent Brunei food and beverages industry implements SCM practices, and to analyze how the SCM practices contribute in improving organizational performance and competitive advantage. In addition, this research also studied the relationship between SCM practices (strategic supplier partnership, customer relationship, level of information sharing) with organization performance and competitive advantage. Furthermore, this study focuses on food and beverages industry in Brunei Darussalam and the data collected were from 106 organizations. The analysis involved statistical method such as correlation analysis, reliability analysis and multiple regressions. The results indicate that SCM practices have positive impact to organizational performance and competitive advantage. The study has provided some contributions to the academics and practical/ managerial implementation in the food and beverages industries and further recommendations based on the findings of the study for future research.
