The major objective of this study is to identifying the factors that is affecting the growth of film industry in Brunei Darussalam. The scope of work is narrowed down to short films produced by local filmmakers who resides in Brunei Darussalam. The study is guided by four research questions; why are there not many short films produced in Brunei; what factors affecting the success of the short films; does the short film produced meets the audience's preferences; as well as what initiatives that has been done to improve the film industry.

Several methodologies such that interviews and questionnaires has been carried out to gather and analyse data. The researcher used stratified and convenience sampling for questionnaires to collect data from both local filmmakers and audiences, respectively. Whilst the interview uses Stratified sampling. Multiple graphical representations is used to visualize the analysed data.

The results is obtained by correlating the extracted significant findings obtained from multiple samples. Several recommendations also has been suggested by researcher to better the film industry in Brunei Darussalam.
