Managing People is an intermediate English course for management staff of any level working in professional, commercial or technical fields. It develops the oral and writing skills required to communicate with clients, colleagues, subordinates and superiors in a variety of management situations. Particularly useful for short, intensive courses, Managing People can be adapted to suit different course lengths. The STUDENT'S BOOK consists of 10 units. Each of the units 1-8 focuses on a major managerial activity such as customer relations, staff recruitment or report writing, while units 9 and 10 review and extend the language skills developed in previous units. The management topics are realistically presented through talks, dialogues, and case histories with accompanying documents. Students practise using new vocabulary and expressions in a variety of pairwork and role play situations and writing activities. A grammar appendix is provided for student reference. A CASSETTE containing the Talks, Dialogues and Additional Expressions accompanies the course. The TEACHER'S BOOK provides a detailed guide to presenting the course with supplementary material to ensure that the teacher meets students' specific needs.
