500 _aAbstract Despite many initiatives have been done by the government, the unemployment issue still persists. There has been public allegation stating that the graduates are selective in finding jobs, preferring work in the government sector only and not willing to work in the private sector, thus leading to unemployment. Therefore, one of the crucial tackling approaches is studying the undergraduates' attitude and employability upon graduation in Brunei Darussalam. The study aims to assess the undergraduates' attitude based on their perspective in finding jobs and determine the motivational factors that can influence their career selection. As for employability, the development of undergraduates' employability skills during their university years was determined, as well as the importance of having key skills while seeking a job. To carry out the study, a self-administered survey questionnaire was distributed online to current local university students, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative approaches. As a result, the study found a positive result, with 72% of respondents preferring to work in both government and private sectors. However, about 22% of them preferred working in government only. The study also reveals that the main motivational factor is job security. Furthermore, the majority of undergraduates have developed their employability skills well during their university years and are aware of the importance of acquiring key skills while seeking employment. To combat the unemployment issue, the government, private organizations, and the graduates themselves should work together and contribute solutions through efficient initiatives. Despite the challenging job market situation, undergraduates upon graduating should have a positive attitude and develop employability skills that are lacking in order to secure employment.
