In addition, the research also intends to explore the challenges and constraints faced by the women while trying to get to the leadership level.
In order to examine the situation in Brunei Darussalam, 50 to 95 respondents are targeted to participate in online survey and 3 respondents from Small Medium Enterprises were interviewed. The data and information that is used in this report are completely based on primary and secondary data in Human Resource Management and Management studies that are related to the subject. The information was gathered through the annual reports such as International Labour Organisation (ILO), previous articles, journals, and researches.
The findings of this research did not fully support that the lack of women in leadership position in Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) yet in public sector, there is still underrepresentation of women in leadership or higher position. However, balancing work and family life had a bigger impact on the respondents.
